Decolonising the Curriculum (DTC) (working title) is a new verbatim theatre project to be made in residence at SOAS University of London by Bhuchar Boulevard (BB), an emotionally intelligent theatre company founded by acclaimed theatre maker, Sudha Bhuchar, connecting across difference to touch the heart.

Students across global campuses have ignited a controversial conversation around the legacy of colonialism in art, education and public spaces, and at SOAS, this complex, contentious and conflicting debate is ongoing.

Bhuchar Boulevard team will be resident on the SOAS site during the autumn and spring term of 2018/9 and will capture campus conversations at SOAS, reflecting urgent political concerns of our times around race, identity & equality. The project will culminate in two pilot performances for creative feedback and further touring interest.

This project is supported by the SOAS South Asia Institute, the Decolonise the Curriculum Working Group at SOAS and the Arts Council of England.
